Of all the questions that come in, perhaps none is more common than “where’d you get that logo?” I always answer it, but wouldn’t it be more fun if, instead, it was the subject of this week’s Fun & Games segment – Name That Logo! Tell us what it is and where you saw it and you’ll be entered into the drawing for our weekly prize.

I can’t offer too many hints, but I will say that this is (or was) in Shanghai. High traffic or the road less traveled? It would be cheating to tell you, but if you’ve seen it, you may remember it, and you can win a prize just for letting us know.

And you can get two entries in the drawing by sharing a story about it. What was your day like when you found it? Were you having a great day, or a terrible day? Did you find anything amazing that day our readers might want to hear about?

Let us know, good luck, and we’ll see you next week when the answer is revealed.

AboutShanghai is the premiere site for news and information for visitors from the west who wish to do business and plan trips to Shanghai, and we survive off the passion of our core of dedicated writers, but we need your help. Do you have a funny photograph, a relevant event or attraction review or an interesting or amusing anecdote about your experience in Shanghai? Help us keep it free and submit it to AboutShanghai and you might win a great prize in our weekly drawing.

All you need to do to qualify for our weekly drawing is submit a funny photograph (with information about what it is and where you took it), a review of an event, attraction or business that would be of interest to other visitors to Shanghai, or any other relevant content ranging from opinion/editorials, news, photographs, or even humorous stories.

When you submit, you grant us permission to publish the article as we see fit for the benefit of other readers, and what you stand to gain is the chance at a fine, weekly prize.

We receive submissions every week and our staff gets together once a week to pick a winner. The winner is chosen entirely at our discretion, but we promise not to award ourselves any prizes. Weekly winners may or may not be listed on the site, but winners may be awarded any of the following prizes (drawn at random based on availability).

- An E-book about Shanghai

- A guidebook to Shanghai or China, published by one of the big four publishers

- An AboutShanghai t-shirt

- An alternative Shanghai tourism book, from a pre-selected list

- Sennheiser active Noise-Canceling headphones

Prizes are non-transferable and may not be sold, traded or otherwise disposed of prior to receipt. Items with a cash value over $100 USD may require recipient payee information for tax purposes (and you may be required to pay taxes on it, depending on your location and nation of origin, check with your accountant for details). Any awarded item may be shipped anywhere in the United States, Canada, UK or China.

But don’t worry about the details, just submit your killer content today with your name, contact info and your best shot at proper spelling and grammar.

All items submitted may be subject to editorial adjustment as determined by the AboutShanghai staff for length, content, spelling, grammar, accuracy and overall presentability.

We do sincerely look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
Editorial Staff

If you’ve taken your fair share of day trips out from Shanghai, it’s possible you’ve seen this picture before. This is the world’s largest statue, the world’s tallest statue and the world’s largest statue all at once. But where does it live, where must you go, what can you tell us about it? Submit your knowledge to us for inclusion in a forthcoming article about it and count yourself in amongst the participants who could win a great prize for participating in the site.

Please check out the full-resolution images for this article by clicking here, as well as here for another version, and here for a third photograph.

It’s something, isn’t it? It’s the hugest, thinnest Buddha you may have ever imagined, planted on a foundation of bedrock carved in to a hillside. It weighs as much as a skyscraper, and well it should, it’s as big as one too. There’s a gift shop at the base with a small museum and is surrounded by a campus of unique, historically important relics, but where is it?

One of our writers took the picture, so we have all the answers, but we’re making Fun & Games out of it, inviting readers to sound off as to what you think it is, where you think it is, what you think you know about it, and what you can tell our readers to help them decide that it’s a MUST SEE attraction outside of Shanghai.

All commenters to this article will automatically be entered in to a drawing to win a prize, as outlined elsewhere on our site, and as soon as we get enough entries, the drawing will take place here in our office. (Don’t worry, no one on staff with AboutShanghai is eligible to win.)

Good luck, and enjoy the gigantic-Buddha, I know our writer did.
