A recent study conducted by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, titled Wok Carefully, found that many of the items on menus at Chinese restaurants in the United States contain enough sodium for an entire day or more. Researchers also found that although a number of menu items were high in fat, most of the fat came from heart-safe, trans-fat-free vegetable oils.

Shanghai’s historic Peace Hotel has closed for renovations and is expected to remain closed for the next two years while construction work is completed. Jinjiang International Hotel Management, the owner of the hotel, has signed a deal with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and the Swiss watchmaker Swatch to do the renovations.

The Great Wall of China, whose construction began during the Zhou Dynasty of approximately 770BC, has finally been bested. Descendants of the ancient invading Mongols have discovered a Home Depot in Ulan Bator, and purchased thousands of scaling ladders to allow them passage over the Great Wall. They appear to have been successful in their endeavor, and are now threatening Beijing.
